We went to Whitnash near Leamington Spa on Tuesday the 21st of Feburary for a computer repair, to find a Trojan virus that was designed look like a police fine to scare users in to paying for a fake fine, Pretty easy to remove it took about an hour with updating the antivirus to a newer version and checking all clear happily virus removal a success.
This morning we are at Henley in Arden to remove a root kit virus called “Smart Fortress 2012″ this is going to be a scam to take money for a so called antivirus that claims you have thousands of virus’s or registry issues – standard scare tactic should be removable by editing the registry and running a Malwarebytes Scan.
Update : it turns out this arrived via an email claiming to be a Federal Express missed delivery and the customer had opened the attachment
